APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

For the best results we recommend the following methods;

METHOD 1

For a slightly aged, authentic, crinkled look.

Step 1

Add your image medium to your surface in small sections.

Step 2

Place your image on your surface and rub down with a handful of cling wrap, removing or leaving as many crinkles as you prefer.

Step 3

Repeat until the whole image is attached to your surface.

Step 4

Finish with an image medium or lacquer using as many coats as is preferred.

Step 5

To  flatten crinkles, and to add a further aged look, sand with a very fine sandpaper in between coats of finish.

METHOD 2

For a flat, clean and flush result.

Step 1

Coat your surface with a thick coat of image medium/glue and let it dry.

Step 2

Repeat step 1.

Step 3

Place your image on top of your surface and place a piece of parchment/baking paper on top of your image.

Step 4

Have your iron on a medium heat and, starting in the middle, iron the surface until the image is secured to your surface.

OPTIONAL FINISHES FOR METHOD 2

If you have applied the decoupage paper to a low traffic surface then you can choose to not seal it.

Oil based finish:  Use as many coats as desired of an oil based finish.
